termx and recons

These two templates seem to do the exact thing. Do we need to have them both? – Krun (talk) 15:36, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

They're not quite the same. {{termx}} will link either to mainspace or to an appendix, depending on the language code. {{recons}} always links to an appendix. {{termx}} is needed for templates that work for many languages, like {{suffix}}, because they can't 'know' how to link to a term.
