Etymology[edit]

From Trondheim and fjord. (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?) The name of the fjord may originally have been *Þrónd or *Þróund, which would then be the origin of þróndr and plural þrǿndr (> trønder), the name of the people living around it. Compare sygnir pl from Sogn.
