Virtue signaling is not 'derogatory'. It's not an insult. This site is far left. If virtue signaling is 'derogatory' then I love derogatory words. Whether you like it or not, virtue signaling will always be an widely acceptable word to use. Most Americans and most Europeans approve of people using the word Virtue Signaling. I can get state parks and mountains named after the word 'Virtue signaling' and no one would complain When hypocritical CEOSs of billion dollar corporations or no name actors try to use a tragedy to show how noble and great they are in order to win brownie points and put themselves in the spotlight at the epxense of people who are hurting, it is virtue signaling. If anything is derogatory it is those far left trolls who virtue signal to try to show us how great and moral they are. — This unsigned comment was added by 65.155.17.204 (talk) at 20:41, 29 April 2022 (UTC).Reply

That shows you have no idea what derogatory means. It has nothing to do whether anyone is offended or whether or not it's true. It simply means that it signals a negative attitude about the object of the term. People use "virtue signaling" (rather than a more neutral or even a more positive term) to show they disapprove of whatever they're using the term to refer to. That makes it derogatory.
