bitty[edit]

Are you sure that you don't mean biddy. Your sense is not in the American Heritage Dictionary or in Merriam-Webster's. SemperBlotto (talk) 16:00, 8 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I stand corrected. I took the time to informally poll around the neighborhood (an Irish neighborhood in the US) and found nearly all thought the spelling was "bitty." But that may result from "Biddy" being a nickname for the common name Bridget there, from which I've learned "biddy" originated. I wonder if people here avoid the spelling "biddy" because of its negative connotations for a locally common name. Thank you for fixing my error and giving me an interesting little bit of research. -- AirDale (talk) 03:13, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
