About[edit]

Central Mansi is Uralic language, one of the three languages in the Mansi branch of the Ob-Ugric family. It encompasses 2 sub languages, the Western and the Eastern Mansi, dialects include:

  • Western [W] ✝
    • Pelym [P]
    • North Vagil [ÉVag./VN]
    • South Vagil [DVag./VS]
    • Lower Lozva [AL/LU]
    • Middle Lozva [LM/KL]
  • Eastern (Konda)
    • Upper Konda [FK/KO]
    • Lower Konda [AK/KU]
    • Midle Konda [KK/KM]
    • Jukonda [Ko./JU]

Unchanged Russian-Cyrillic script.

Western[edit]

A wieldy used standard wasn't present while it was spoken, but a reconstrution from Matthew and Mark Holy Gospels in Lower Lozva, published by the British and Foreign Bible Society in 1882. It used the Cyrillic script, almost identical to the Russian. Some of the differences include:

  • Vowels: ӓ, ӧ, ӱ, (no long and short distinction in writing)
