Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

aetheogam +‎ -ous[1]

Pronunciation[edit]

Adjective[edit]

aetheogamous (not comparable)

  1. (botany)[1] Of the nature of an aetheogam.

Usage notes[edit]

  • Being ultimately derived from the two vowels ἀή (aḗ) (alpha-eta: ), rather than the diphthong αἰ (ai) (alpha-iota: ai), the initial ae- of aetheogamous can only properly be written as two separate letters (ae), with a diaeresis atop the e (as aëtheogamous) being optional; the spellings *ætheogamous and *etheogamous are, therefore, erroneous.
