  1. (transitive) To make great; to enlarge; to increase; as, to aggrandise our conceptions, authority, distress.
  2. (transitive) To make great or greater in power, rank, honour or wealth; applied to persons, countries, etc.
  3. (transitive) To make appear great or greater; to exalt.
  4. (intransitive) To increase or become great.
    The boss' son was merely trying to aggrandise himself with the board.
