Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Albanian *aśt-, from Proto-Indo-European *h2ost(h2-), from root *h2st(h2-) (bone). Cognate to Sanskrit अस्थि (ásthi-, bone). Singular of a more used form eshtra (bones, relics)[1].
