Borrowed from Arabic بَحْر (baḥr, little sea).

Noun[edit]

bahira (plural bahiras)

  1. (oceanography) A classification of sea inlet; a depression in the land flooded by the sea during the Holocene transgression and connected to the sea by a narrow passage.
    The Etang de Diana in Corsica is a bahira type of inlet.
