Borrowed from Hungarian csárdás, adjectival form of csárda (tavern), from Ottoman Turkish چارطاق (çardak, arbour, summerhouse), from Persian چارتاق (čârtâq, four-arch), from چار (čâr, four) +‎ طاق (tâq, arch).
