Franco-Provençal[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Latin cadĕre. Compare Occitan caire. All Franco-Provençal variants appear to show stress on the first vowel,[1][2] which argues against a derivation from the Late Latin variant cadēre.

Verb[edit]

chêre

  1. to fall
