From an earlier craxi (whence Craxi), from Byzantine Greek κρασίον (krasíon, blending, diminutive), from Ancient Greek κρᾶσις (krâsis, blending). Compare with οίνος m (oínos). Cognate with Greek κρασί (krasí) and Mariupol Greek красы́ (krasý).
