  1. A fictitious drug, sometimes included in academic questionnaires to test the reliability of respondents.
    • 2004, A Study of the 2002 Arizona Youth Survey: Gang Membership Among Youth:
      On how many occasions (if any) have you used derbisol during the past 30 days?
    • 2010, Journal of Psychology in Africa, volume 20, numbers 1-2, page 36:
      Students were also asked if they had used a fictitious substance (Derbisol), and the students that responded positively to this item (n = 6 in Queenstown and n = 3 in Umtata) were excluded from the study.
