English[edit]

Noun[edit]

diamond anniversary (plural diamond anniversaries)

  1. The 75th anniversary of some event, particularly a wedding.
  2. The 60th anniversary of some event, particularly a wedding.

Usage notes[edit]

The traditional usage of this term was for 75th anniversaries, keeping the order of silver (25th) and golden (50th); but given normal ages at marriage and typical human lifespans, it is now more frequently used to celebrate 60th anniversaries with the 70th reckoned as platinum.
