From modern Latin epizeuxis, from Ancient Greek ἐπίζευξις (epízeuxis, a fastening upon), from ἐπιζευγνύναι (epizeugnúnai), from ἐπί (epí, upon) + ζευγνύναι (zeugnúnai, to yoke).
