    • Rhinelandic Rhyming Bible, early 12th century;
      The alle wereltliche thing uer kiesen, that se the sielen neuerlîesen.
      Those rejected all secular affairs, so that they don't lose their souls.
      Notes: the prefix ne- is used the negate the verb. The 'v' was written as 'u' in Old Dutch.
