English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

hydroxy- +‎ kenomicrolite, derived from hydrokenomicrolite and for having a hydroxide anion. The keno- prefix embedded derives from κενός (kenós, empty) and is used often in microlite-group minerals for an unknown reason, apparently for a lack of something in the crystalline structure.

Noun[edit]

hydroxykenomicrolite (uncountable)

  1. (mineralogy) A microlite mineral that is a basic tantalate of sodium and tin
