  1. (transitive) to constrain, coerce, oblige, compel, force
    Respekto, gratitudo, autoritato koaktas me silencar.
    Respect, gratitude, authority compel me to be silent.
    Ne koatkez il.
    Do not use compulsion with him.

This refers espacially to moral; social, intellectual compulsion, rather than physical force; cf. forco, forsar.
