ewwel (feminine singular (obsolete) ula)
- first (of a series or order, before second and third)
- Din kienet l-ewwel darba li kont barra minn Malta.
- This was the first time I was away from Malta.
Usage notes[edit]
- The adjective is prepositioned, as above, and remains invariable. When nominalised it usually takes a form of wieħed after it: Din hija l-ewwel waħda. (“This is the first one.”)
