From Proto-Vietic *k-ɓɔh (beak), from Proto-Mon-Khmer *ɟɓuəh ~ *ɟɓuuʔ; cognate with Thavung abɔh¹, Khmer ចំពុះ (cɑmpuh), Pacoh tarbóh.
