mesopause (plural mesopauses)

  1. (meteorology) In the atmosphere, the boundary between the mesosphere and the thermosphere or ionosphere. It is the atmospheric boundary where the temperature reaches its minimum value.

The mesopause commonly lies between 80 and 90 km (50-55 mi) above sea level (ASL)
