From Javanese ꦥꦫꦩꦱꦱ꧀ꦠꦿ (paramasastra, grammar), probably calque of Dutch spraakkunst, from Old Javanese parama (finest) +‎ śāstra, from Sanskrit परम (parama, finest) +‎ शास्त्र (śāstra).
