Albanian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Uncertain. Apparently close to Proto-Germanic *skēwjanan, hence Gothic skewjan (skewjan, to wander), Old Norse skœva (to stride), Dutsch schooien (to go, to hurry). An alternative etymology derives it from shtekoj, a Gheg formation from shteg[1].

Verb[edit]

shkoj (first-person singular past tense shkova, participle shkuar)

  1. I go, pass
