  1. (organic chemistry) A chemical compound with the formula Ph2PNa; Ph = Phenyl.

      Sodium diphenylphosphide (Ph2PNa) is readily prepared by adding Na to a solution of the diphosphine in dry Et2O or THF (exothermic!), whereby the colour becomes yellow and the orange Na salt separates.
