sweet pepper (plural sweet peppers)

  1. The fruit of a non-spicy variety of pepper (genus Capsicum), also called bell pepper. Available in green, red, yellow and orange skinned varieties (the green is generally the unripe variety and the colored versions the sweeter, ripe fruit).
