[edit]Learned borrowing from Koine Greek εὐθύνη (euthúnē, “public control of the actions of rulers”), from Ancient Greek εὔθυνα (eúthuna), from εὐθύνω (euthúnō, “to guide straight; to examine one's conduct”), with semantic loan from French responsabilité.[1]
