Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀧𑀲𑀸𑀭 (pasāra), from Sanskrit प्रसार (prasāra). Doublet of प्रसार (prasār). Related to पसरना (pasarnā). Compare Maithili पसार (pasār) / 𑒣𑒮𑒰𑒩 (pasāra), Nepali पसारो (pasāro), Punjabi ਪਸਾਰਾ (pasārā) / پَسارا (pasārā), Sindhi پَسارو / पसारो, Gujarati પસારો (pasāro), Marathi पसारा (pasārā), Odia ପସାର (pôsarô).
