Cognate with Thai เก้า (gâao), Northern Thai ᨠᩮᩢ᩶ᩣ, Lao ເກົ້າ (kao), Tai Dam ꪹꪀ꫁ꪱ, Shan ၵဝ်ႈ (kāo), Tai Nüa ᥐᥝᥲ (kàw), Ahom 𑜀𑜧 (kaw), Bouyei guz, Zhuang gouj, Saek กู̂.
