Etymology[edit]
Literally "if you want to know why." From 왜 (wae, “why”) + 이 (i-, “be”, copula, elided) + 냐 (-nya, interrogative suffix) + 하 (ha-, “say”) + 면 (-myeon, conditional conjunctive suffix).
