Glyph origin
[edit]Pictogram (象形) – a pig with penis, meaning "male pig". Shuowen considered this character "pig with foot" (从彑,下象其足), which is incorrect.
See also 家 (jiā). Compare 豖, in which the male pig is castrated since the penis is detached from his body.
