Tarok[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Blench and Longtau suggest it may derive from ùcár (woman) +‎ ɗəp (briefly), from a longer descriptive phrase "woman who stays briefly", referring to the traditional practice of a bride staying briefly with her new family, then returning for a time to her old family, before moving back to the new family.

Noun[edit]
