Etymology

The suffix is similar to ἐρέβινθος (erébinthos), ὑάκινθος (huákinthos) and λαβύρινθος (labúrinthos), so it is probably a Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. word. Adaptation to μηρύομαι (mērúomai, to draw up, to furl) has also been assumed, however there is little reason for this. Maybe related to μῆριγξ (mêrinx, bristle).
