Etymology
From ки̏сео + -ник, based on кѝсӣк, coined by Bogoslav Šulek in the 19th century from the root of ки̏сео (modeled after the Czech kyslík).
Vladimir Njegovan suggested the term is irregularly formed, arguing the roots should have formed *kiselik.
