Etymology[edit]
Spread into the standard language from Old Church Slavonic милостꙑн҄и (milostynʹi, “mercy”), from Proto-Slavic *milostyni. Morphologically equivalent to ми́лост (mílost, “mercy”) + -иня (-inja).
