Etymology

From Proto-Turkic *ăča / *ĕče "mother; elder sister; older woman".

Compare with Kyrgyz эже (eje, “elder sister; a way to address an older woman”), Southern Altai эје (eǰe, “elder sister; a way to address an older woman”), Uzbek ocha (“grandmother”), Uyghur ئاچا (acha, “elder sister; a way to address an older woman”), etc.
