From Iranian. Compare Persian آذرنرسه (Adur Narseh). Equivalent to ատր- (atr-) +‎ Ներսեհ (Nerseh). The same name is seen in Georgian ადარნასე (adarnase), Ancient Greek Ἀδαρνάσης (Adarnásēs), Ἀδανάρσης (Adanársēs). Used among Armenians in the 1–11th centuries.
