Old Armenian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Some researchers spell the word as Խոզմօր (Xozmōr) and explain it as խոզ (xoz, pig) +‎ մօր (mōr, marsh), but the only extant manuscript has the spelling Խօզմօր (Xōzmōr), so Martirosyan proposes a derivation from խօզ (xōz) +‎ մօր (mōr), thus meaning “mossy marsh” or the like. Compare also խոզմրատ (xozmrat).

Proper noun[edit]

Խօզմօր (Xōzmōr)

  1. a river in Armenia, tributary of Metsamor
