Etymology
Perixanjan derives from North-Western Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "MIr." is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. *paritāv, from Iranian *pari-tāva- (“rampart”), from *pari- (“around”) and *tā̆v- (“to throw; to heap up”). Compare պարիսպ (parisp) for a similar formation. Compare also Persian پرتاب (partâb), Tajik партов (partov, “garbage, waste”), партофтан (partoftan, “to throw”), the Armenian borrowing փարթավել (pʻartʻavel, “to throw”), from *parā̆-tāva-.
