Old Armenian

Etymology

Perhaps of the same (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European origin, as խեղ (xeł). The same root is found in the compound կեղակարծ (kełakarc) in the form կեղ- (keł-) and in the meaning “crooked”. For this form compare the Georgian borrowing კელი (ḳeli).
