בַּחוּרָה (bakhuráf (plural indefinite בַּחוּרוֹת, masculine counterpart בָּחוּר)

  1. girl, gal (as a female human, not a female child), bird (in British English) - i.e: a particular woman, which is often an object of affection. As opposed to English, this is not usually very derogatory, though often saying בת or אישה is preferred.
