  1. Third-person masculine singular vav-consecutive imperfect (hence past tense) of נָס ‎(nás).
    • Exodus 4:3, with translation of the King James Version:
      וַיְהִי לְנָחָשׁ וַיָּנָס מֹשֶׁה מִפָּנָיו
      vayhí l'nachásh vayános moshé mipanáv
      and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it
