- Third-person masculine singular vav-consecutive imperfect (hence past tense) of הִסְתִּיר (histír).
- Tanach, Exodus 3:6, with translation of the King James Version:
- וַיַּסְתֵּר מֹשֶׁה פָּנָיו כִּי יָרֵא מֵהַבִּיט אֶל הָאֱלֹהִים
- vayastér moshé panáv ki yaré mehabít el haelohím
- And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
