Derived from יָדָה (yadá, to praise). Compare Akkadian 𒅀𒌑𒁕𒀀𒀀 (ia-u-da-a-a). Alternatively, linked to Arabic وَهْدة (wahda, ravine, gully, gulch, lowlands) [1]
