  1. A pleasant or lovely thing.
    • 1 Kings 20:6, with translation of the King James Version:
      [] כָּל־מַחְמַד עֵינֶיךָ יָשִׂימוּ בְיָדָם וְלָקָחוּ׃
      [] kol-makhmád einékha yasímu b'yadám v'lakákhu.
      [] whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.[1]
