Borrowed from Ancient Greek παράκλητος (paráklētos). Attested since Late Antiquity.

פְּרַקְלִיט (praklítm (plural indefinite פְּרַקְלִיטִים, singular construct פְּרַקְלִיט־, plural construct פְּרַקְלִיטֵי־, feminine counterpart פְּרַקְלִיטָה)

  1. An attorney, an advocate, a lawyer: one who represents or speaks for another, especially in a court of law.
