Passive of תיחקר / תִּחְקֵר (tikhkér), from the root ת־ח־ק־ר (t-kh-k-r). That root was extracted from the noun תַּחְקִיר (takhkír, “investigation”), which is in turn from the root ח־ק־ר (kh-k-r).
