اِخْتَبَأَ (iḵtabaʔa) VIII, non-past يَخْتَبِئُ‎ (yaḵtabiʔu)

  1. (transitive, archaic) to hide
  2. (intransitive) to hide
    شَعَرَ جُحَا بِلِصِّ فِي دَارِهِ لَيْلًا، فَقَامَ إِلَى خِزَانَةِ غُرْفَةِ النَّوْمِ وَاِخْتَبَأَ فِيهَا.
    šaʕara juḥā biliṣṣi fī dārihi laylan, faqāma ʔilā ḵizānati ḡurfati n-nawmi waḵtabaʔa fīhā.
    Juha sensed a thief in his house at night, so he went to the bedroom closet and hid in it.
