From Arabic خَلَصَ (ḵalaṣa, “to be pure, to be clear, to be free from”), from the root خ ل ص (ḵ-l-ṣ).

     خالصہ سوئے جو نندا تیاگے، خالصہ سوئے لڑے ہوئے آگے

     khālsā soe jo nindā tiāge, khālsā soe laṛe hoe āgae

     Khalsa is the one, who renounces calumny, Khalsa is the one who volunteers to contend in the first rank.
