[edit]From Ancient Greek ζεύγλη (zeúglē, “loop attached to the yoke”), which derives from the verb ζεύγνυμι (zeúgnumi, “to yoke, harness”).

- sort of wooden stick that is placed vertically on both sides of the neck of a draught animal, so it does not come off the yoke
