ضُغْبُوس (ḍuḡbūsm (plural ضَغَابِيس (ḍaḡābīs))

  1. Ceropegieae tribe plants such as Caralluma and Monolluma – as also دُغْبُوس (duḡbūs)
    • 7th century CE, Jamīʿ at-Tirmiḏiyy, 42:23:
      بَعَثَهُ بِلَبَنٍ وَلِبَإٍ وَضَغَابِيسَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ
      baʕaṯahu bilabanin walibaʔin waḍaḡābīsa ʔilā n-nabiyyi
      He sent him with milk and colostrum and [shoots of this plant] to the prophet
